Please reach us at maddy@okiedoughkiebakery.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Our short answer is always the sooner the better to make sure your date doesn’t get booked up. However, we know that last minute events come up or sometimes you just space making the dessert arrangements. Whatever reason it may be, we understand and do everything we can to accommodate all our orders. For that reason, we don’t have a notice requirement. It all depends on the amount of orders already booked and the size of the order you want to place. Use the following timeline to help get a better idea of notice and availability currently:
1+ months notice - unless lots of people ahead of you wanted the same date, very safe
1 week notice - generally safe
3+ days notice - less safe, depends on availability
Same day or next day needed - depends on availability, we do all we can to accommodate!
Yes, for cakes and certain custom orders we do require a 50% deposit and the rest to be paid at pickup or anytime prior
The 50% deposit is non-refundable. If you cancel your order up to 48 hours in advance of the order, your deposit will be able to be used as store credit, and can be put towards another order or for buying in-store items. If you cancel within 48 hours of pickup, if your order has not been started yet, your full deposit can be used as credit. If your order is already fully or partially complete, it will be decided on a case by case basis how much of the deposit can be used as credit. Dependent on size and complexity of order and how much had been completed
All cakes should be refrigerated, but left to sit out to get to room temperature before serving, at least 30 minutes-2 hours depending on types of fillings, frosting, and size. Cakes with certain fillings that will harden in the fridge, such as our house made caramel filling, should be left to sit out longer, for at least 2 hours. Cakes that have mousse fillings or cream cheese frostings should not be left out for extended periods of time (4+ hours). Leftovers should be wrapped tightly and placed in an airtight container in the fridge if possible. We will instruct you how you should store your specific cake at pickup, but always reach out for any questions
The cake is best if eaten within a few days. If kept refrigerated and properly wrapped and stored, it should last around a week before a very noticeable decrease in quality
Absolutely! Wrap tightly with plastic wrap and place in an airtight container or bag. Let cakes or cupcakes defrost in the fridge overnight when you are ready to enjoy. Unfrosted cookies can be defrosted at room temperature, in the microwave at 10 second increments, or into the oven at 250° for a few minutes. Frozen baked goods will last 3-6 months.
